Er arbeitet als freier Regisseur, Autor, Komponist, Produzent, Musiker, Kabarettist und manchmal auch als Darsteller. Mit Polt drehte er u.a. 'Kehraus' (Bundesfilmpreis), 'Man spricht deutsh' und 'Fast wia im richt igen Leben' (Adolf-Grimme-Preis). 'Exoten' und 'Tschurangrati' waren seine größten Bühnenerfolge. Als Musiker produzierte er die Biermöslblosn, für die Toten Hosen schrieb er zahlreiche Songs, darunter 'Sascha' und 'Zehn kleine Jägermeister'. Heute lebt und arbeitet er in Breitbrunn am Ammersee und genießt das Leben. - Sonne für alle!

So luftig wie der weiß-blaue Himmel, so süffig wie ein Weißbier an einem lauen Sommerabend liest sich der bayrische „Bukowski“. Rene Goscinny wurde 1926 in Paris geboren. Er wuchs in Buenos Aires auf und nach dem Abitur arbeitete er erst als Hilfsbuchhalter und später als Zeichner in einer Werbeagentur. 1945 wanderte Goscinny nach New York aus. 1946 musste er nach Frankreich um seinen Militärdienst abzuleisten. Zurück in den USA arbeitete er wieder als Zeichner, dann als künstlerischer Leiter bei einem Kinderbuchverleger. Während einer Frankreichreise ließ Goscinny sich von einer franco-belgischen Presseagentur einstellen, die ihn zweimal als Korrespondent nach New York schickte. Er gab das Zeichnen auf und fing an zu texten. Er entwarf sehr viele humoristische Artikel, Bücher und Drehbücher für Comics. U.a. schrieb er: "Der kleine Nick" (mit Sempe), "Lucky Luke" (für Morris), "Isnogud" (mit Tabary), "Umpah-Pah" und "Asterix" (mit Uderzo). Goscinny war verheiratet und hat eine Tochter. Er starb am 5.November 1977. Albert Uderzo, 1927 geboren, wurde 1941 Hilfszeichner in einem Pariser Verlag. 1945 half er zum ersten Mal bei der Herstellung eines Trickfilms, ein Jahr später zeichnete er seine ersten Comic-strips, wurde Drehbuchverfasser und machte bald auch in sich abgeschlossene Zeichenserien. In dieser Zeit entstanden u.a. "Belloy, Ritter ohne Rüstung" (für die Zeitschrift OK) und "Verbrechen lohnt sich nicht" (für die Zeitung France-Soir). Uderzo wurde Mitarbeiter einer belgischen Agentur in Paris, wo er 1951 Jean-Michel Charlier und Rene Goscinny kennenlernte. Mit Charlier machte Uderzo "Belloy", "Tanguy" und "Laverdure" und mit Goscinny entstanden zunächst u.a. "Pitt Pistol" und "Der unglaubliche Korsar", dann folgten "Luc Junior" (für La Libre Belgique), "Benjamin und Benjamine" (für "Top Magazin") und "Umpah-Pah" (für "Tintin"). 1959 gründeten Uderzo und Goscinny ihre eigene Zeitschrift, die sich "Pilot" nannte. Als Krönung entstand dann "Asterix der Gallier".

Ich habe hier meinen bayrischen und Hessischen Freunden jetzt einen Duden zu Weihnachten geschenkt, weil es bisher immer ging...he he mach mal langsam und spreche langsam ....wir können nichts verstehen.

This Mundart Asterix album is in excellent state. The packaging was excellent and the delivery was very quick, as promised.

Auch wenn es mit Ostthüringisch nichts gemein hat. Der Dialekt stammt aus Nordthüringen, präzise aus Sondershausen :-)Mir gefällt es auch äußerst gut!

This is the first of Rudy Wiebe's books that I've read, but I plan to look for others. Mr. Weibe writes this book as a loving memory of his childhood in the boreal forests of Canada around the time of WWII. His parents had escaped the terrors of Stalinist Russia around the time he was born, and then eked out a living by farming.I was entranced by his descriptions of his chldhood - the animals, the seasons, his extended family living nearby, the school he attended, and his memories of the joys of just being a boy. Like most farm communities, there are deaths, injuries, scandals, and a social life centered around church and neighbors. He describes the wonders of listening to the radio, tasting chocolate for the first time, and riding in a car, but always speaks with respect about the traditions and beliefs of his Mennonite family.Mr. Wiebe has a wonderful way with words, taking the reader back in his memories until you feel you are there. I highly recommend this book.

Loved the lyricism mixed with earthy, human story-telling

I was unable to finish reading this book. I gave it a hundred-plus pages, but it just never seemed to go anywhere. Even the constant use of words, phrases and sentences rendered in the "Russian Mennonite Low German" dialect that Wiebe's family spoke at home quickly became tedious and redundant. I can see where OF THIS EARTH might be interesting to folks who grew up in that area during that era and perhaps to those who share the same ethnic background, but for me it was in the end a disappointment and just plain tedious. And I usually like to read about other people's early lives, how ever different they might be from my own. The narrative here just didn't move the reader forward. For a much more interesting and enjoyable book on growing up in the Canadian bush, I would recommend Farley Mowat's Born Naked: The Early Adventures of the Author of Never Cry Wolf. - Tim Bazzett, author of the memoir BOOKLOVER

From the first page, I could see why "Of This Earth" won the Charles Taylor Prize. I had read two of Rudy Wiebe's other books, "Stolen Life" and "Peace Shall Destroy Many", and thought them well written, but the writing in this book is amazing! It's original and intricate and yet it never distracts or confuses, painting the scenes of a life so clearly that the reader is standing right beside young Rudy as he runs under the belly of a draft horse or sits at the kindergarten table in a one-room school house. I know I'll read this book over and over just to enjoy the way he uses words. It's a masterpiece!
